A 38-year-old Oakland man died Wednesday after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding a bike earlier in the week, officials said. The collision happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Monday in the area of 23rd Avenue and East 22nd Street, according to police. Investigators determined th e bicyclist, identified as Batholomew Fitzgerald Drawsand, was heading west on East 22nd Street and turned north onto 23rd Avenue. The driver was traveling south on 23rd Avenue when they collided with Drawsand. The driver fled the scene, traveling south on 23rd Avenue. Drawsand was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, police said. He died from his injuries late Wednesday morning.
