A popular South Bay shopping center is bringing cars back into a space that’s been pedestrian-only, and not everyone is happy about it. The Pruneyard in Campbell said it’s reopening a drive aisle to cars starting May 1, adding it’ll ease traffic and make parking simpler. But not everyone ’s buying it. Online, many visitors are already pushing back, worried it could make things less safe. “As a parent to a 2-year-old, I just feel like it’s not safe. Back on the ground, some families say this could make an already busy spot even tougher to navigate. “This is a nice area to just hang out, and if there are cars coming in and out, it’s going to be harder to cross the street. I don’t really think it’s going to change anything parking-wise or traffic-flow-wise, it’s still gonna be busy, this is a popular area,” Bylund said. NBC Bay Area reached out to the Pruneyard for more on the decision but hasn’t heard back. ...read more read less
