Fire crews on Wednesday contained a vegetation fire near a San Jose elementary school, officials said. The San Jose Fire Department said a full first alarm response was sent to the 5000 block of North First Street near George Mayne Elementary School. School officials were asked to shelter in p lace as a precaution, while crews worked to contain the fire.
