Strong winds caused a hot air balloon to lift off the ground and slam into the side of a casino near Sacramento Monday afternoon, according to police. The Elk Grove Police Department said the balloon “made an unplanned launch from Sky River Casino due to unexpected strong winds.” The ballo on hit the side of the casino and a power line before eventually landing in a field southeast of Grant Line Road, according to police. The pilot, who was the only person on board, was not hurt, police said.
