TODAY Clouds should thin as the day goes on, leading to a brighter and pleasantly warm afternoon. Highs reach the mid 70s, with an east breeze around 5 to 10 mph. It looks like a very usable day for church, errands, or anything outside, with the more active weather still holding off until later Monday.   TONIGHT Partly cloudy and mild for late April, with lows in the mid 50s and an east breeze around 5 to 10 mph. It stays quiet overnight, and this should be a calm setup heading into the start of the workweek.   TOMORROW Very warm and increasingly breezy, with at least partial sunshine through much of the day before clouds build later on. Highs jump into the low 80s, with a south southeast wind around 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. Most of the daytime still looks usable, but by mid to late afternoon a few showers may begin to develop, and the bigger concern arrives Monday evening into the night.   TOMORROW NIGHT This is the period to watch most closely. Showers and thunderstorms become likely, and some storms could turn strong to severe with damaging wind, heavy downpours, and localized flooding concerns. Lows stay in the mid 60s, with a gusty south wind around 15 mph. If you have evening plans, this is the window where you will want alerts turned on and a close eye on the radar.   TUESDAY Showers and thunderstorms likely linger into the morning, then the trend turns drier with more sunshine developing by afternoon. Highs still reach the low 70s, with a west southwest breeze around 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. It is not a washout day, but the first half looks much messier than the second half.   TUESDAY NIGHT The forecast still keeps a chance for another round of showers and thunderstorms around Tuesday night, even with quieter weather trying to build in. Lows settle into the low 50s, with light winds early before a north breeze develops late. Confidence is better in cooler air arriving than in getting a totally dry night from start to finish.   WEDNESDAY  A leftover early shower or rumble cannot be ruled out, then the day turns brighter and cooler. Highs top out in the mid 60s, with a northwest wind around 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. Compared with Monday, the air will feel much less humid and a lot more seasonable.   WEDNESDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy and cooler, with lows in the low to mid 40s and a lighter north northwest breeze fading late. Quiet weather takes over again, and this looks like a calmer night across central Indiana.   THURSDAY Mostly sunny and pleasant, with highs in the low to mid 60s and a light west northwest breeze around 5 to 10 mph. After the stormier start to the week, Thursday looks like a much more settled spring day for outdoor plans.   7 DAY FORECAST The key weather story is the sharp change from a quiet and warm Sunday into a much more active Monday night, when strong to severe storms and heavy rain are both on the table. After that, temperatures ease back from the low 80s Monday to the low 70s Tuesday, then the 60s for Wednesday and Thursday, with cooler nights returning as well. The forecast still carries smaller rain chances beyond the main Monday night system, especially into Tuesday night and early Wednesday, before a quieter pattern takes hold later in the week. Friday looks cooler with just a low-end shower chance, and next Saturday currently trends a little brighter with highs back in the low 60s. ...read more read less
