A man died Friday after he was struck by a driver in San Jose, according to police. The collision happened at about 9:17 a.m. along the 1400 block of Mabury Road, police said. The juvenile female driver was heading westbound on Madbury Road when she struck the man as he was crossing the street from north to south. He was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision, police said. The man died at the scene, according to police. His identity will be released by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. This marks the second pedestrian death in San Jose this week and eighth overall this year, according to police. A 1-year-old boy died Tuesday after he was hit by a driver in the parking area of an apartment complex along the 2100 block of Canoas Garden Avenue. Two more pedestrians were taken to the hospital Thursday evening after they were hit along the 2300 block of Carlton Avenue, but they are expected to survive.
