Camp North End puts 6 PM curfew into effect for unsupervised teens
Apr 24, 2026
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Camp North End is the latest area to crack down on teen gatherings. Effective Friday, the property implemented a new curfew that requires anyone under the age of 18 to have a chaperone with them after 6 p.m. Our crews saw increased security measures that include at least two C
MPD cruisers and a private security firm patrolling the area.
Camp North End says that over the past few weekends, teens have continued to use the property for unauthorized teen takeovers. One person we talked to who frequents that area tells WCCB that he hardly ever sees teens causing trouble. Charlotte resident Chance Brown says, “When I was a teenager, I kind if just roamed the streets. I wasn’t doing anything crazy. I never hear about them committing crimes out here or anything. As long as they’re not causing trouble, I don’t see any harm in that. Six p.m. is kind of crazy. Especially if they are 16 and up, and they can drive. That’s kind of crazy to me.
Huntersville’s Birkdale Village also implemented a 6 p.m. curfew in February for unsupervised teens.
