RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from two special guests with the VCU Opera on Friday to talk about their upcoming show, "The Tender Land." 8News anchors Autumn Childress and Madison Moore were joined by Fortune Picker and Branch Fields as they discussed what people can expect with the sho w, performed in part by the VCU Symphony. "At the very beginning, there is the sound of the strings coming in very lightly and then the celeste, and it really kind of transports you into the plains, which is where we're taking place," Picker said. Picker and Fields also gave viewers a taste of what they can expect by singing a portion of the show live in-studio. Aaron Copland's "The Tender Land" will be playing at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 at the W. E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts.
