A North Texas woman has been arrested on a murder warrant in connection with her husband’s 2002 cold case murder. The Frisco Police Department said they arrested 55-year-old Lisa Honrud, of Waxahachie, before 8 a.m. Monday on a murder warrant. In 2002, Honrud’s husband, Plano resident Frank W eiss, was found dead near Lake Lewisville in the Frisco city limits. Investigators said Monday that significant progress was made in the 24‑year‑old cold case homicide thanks to new information from a key witness, along with advancements in investigative techniques and modern technology. Frank Weiss Police did not say, specifically, what led them to arrest the victim’s widow. It’s not immediately clear if Honrud has obtained an attorney to speak on her behalf. “We are thankful for our investigators who have put countless hours into this case, as well as the Waxahachie Police Department for their assistance with this arrest,” said Frisco Chief of Police David Shilson. “For 24 years, the Weiss family has waited for answers.
