Earlier this week, friends and neighbors gathered in Hideout to meet with Eric Mainord, candidate for Wasatch County sheriff. Eric shared with us his vast experiences: 16 years in law enforcement, including patrol, major crimes investigations, narcotics and tactical operations as a SWAT officer. He chose to work in the field, directly with the community, rather than behind a desk. He currently serves at the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, where he has seen first hand the professionalism, leadership, dedication, accountability and honesty required to protect our community. He also has over 20 years experience as a private business owner, so he understands fiscal responsibility — that every dollar matters. Eric is what we need for Wasatch County. No politics, no good ol’ boy networking, no questionable motives. We need a full-time, hard working, honest sheriff who knows what needs to be done to deal with the huge growth in the county and the crime that comes with it. We need an environment that encourages employee retention and attracts the best of the best. His top priorities are public safety, building and restoring trust in our community, and constitutional integrity.
