North Texas golden retriever honored with billboard promoting adoption

A beloved North Texas social media star is being remembered in a way drivers can’t miss.
Along North Central Expressway near Royal Lane in Dallas, a glowing billboard featuring Kensington Campbell — a golden retriever with nearly 120,000 Instagram followers — is turning heads while promoti
ng pet adoption and animal welfare.
“From the moment we got her when she was six weeks old, she was a shining light her entire life,” Ryan Campbell said.
After Kensington was diagnosed with cancer, Ryan and Tracey Campbell spent her final year completing a bucket list. Her adventures included trips to the beach, playing in the snow in Colorado, an appearance on the Jumbotron at a Rough Riders game, and playing fetch on the field at The Star in Frisco.
“We wanted to do things that would spark fun and create meaningful ways to promote rescue along the journey,” Tracey Campbell said.
Now, Kensington’s legacy lives on through the billboard. Its rotating messages encourage adoption, fostering, volunteering, and spaying or neutering pets as North Texas shelters face overcrowding.
“What’s the best way to honor her? By letting her legacy live on,” Tracey said. “You save more dogs.”
Kensington’s social media pages remain active, continuing to share her story and inspire animal lovers.
