Dear Editor, Frank Mazur’s recent letter to VTDigger was interesting, to say the least. He claims to wonder why the millions of “No Kings” protesters who turned out on March 26 around the country didn’t offer solutions to the problems Americans are worried about.  It’s a diversiona ry tactic on Mr. Mazur’s part. He does not need to be told what the whole “No Kings” movement is about. The name of the movement explains the reason for its existence. It’s the fight against the current president’s penchant for disregarding laws set down by our Constitution that specifically distribute the power of government over the legislative, judicial and executive branches of government. President Donald Trump clearly believes that constitutional law doesn’t apply to him. It appears as if he wants to be the “Divine Leader” in a country that rejects the idea of divine leaders. “No Kings” protesters are not trying to provide solutions to the problems Mr. Mazur cites, but that’s not what Mr. Mazur is looking for. He’s using the tactic to try to shift blame onto the shoulders of his opponents. What Mr. Mazur and his fellow Trump acolytes don’t want is us asking why we still have all the problems he lists, such as the high cost of food and housing, when the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court are all effectively controlled by the Republicans.  He wants Americans to ask an absurd question: Why isn’t the party out of power solving these problems? It’s a diversion, and it’s why Trump so often blames Joe Biden and Barack Obama for problems that exist under his own administration. A classic diversionary tactic. READ MORE It’s always amusing to me when the MAGA faithful invoke the worn idiom “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as Mr. Mazur does. It’s a phrase they hope casts aspersions on what they call “the libs,” but in reality clearly affixes the label of “deranged” on Donald Trump, and this is where much of the world currently believes it belongs.
