Pedestrian killed Monday in San Francisco hitandrun

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A driver in San Francisco fled the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian with their vehicle on Monday afternoon in the South of Market district, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
The deadly collision occurred at 3:23 p.m. near Mission Street and South Van
Ness Avenue. First responders found the pedestrian deceased at the scene. Their identity was not released as of Tuesday morning.

“Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that the vehicle associated with the collision fled from the scene,” SFPD said.
No arrest was announced in the incident. Police did not release a description of the suspect vehicle or driver.
