A man was pronounced deceased at Jordanelle Reservoir on Monday, according to the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office. The Wasatch County 911 Center received a call of a water-related emergency around 7:45 a.m. involving an individual reported to be on the water, according to a press release. The Sheriff’s Office, Wasatch County Fire District and the Utah Division of Natural Resources located the man. The man was wearing a life jacket and may have been paddleboarding. He appeared to be recreating alone, the press release said. There is currently no evidence suggesting foul play, and the incident appears to have been accidental. The identity of the male has not been released, pending notification to his family. The Sheriff’s Office encouraged the public to use proper safety equipment, avoid recreating alone and be mindful of weather and water conditions, which can change quickly.
