(KRON) -- Following a bombshell report of sexual assault allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell by a former staffer, the congressman flatly denied said allegations in a pre-recorded video on social media Friday evening. "These allegations of sexual assault are flat false," Swalwell said. "They're a bsolutely false. They did not happen; they have never happened, and I will fight them with everything that I have." "For over 20 years I have served the public as a city councilman, as a member of Congress and as a prosecutor who went to court on behalf of victims, particularly on behalf of sexual assault victims," he continued. "That's who I am and have always been. The woman, who remained anonymous, told the San Francisco Chronicle that she had sexual encounters with Swalwell when he was her boss including twice when she said she was too intoxicated to consent. Since the Chronicle broke the story, more allegations of sexual assault against the Congressman have surfaced in a CNN story detailing allegations from three more women. These allegations have prompted supporters of Swalwell to rescind their endorsements and even call for him to drop out of the Governor's race and resign from Congress altogether.
