Former Husker Baseball Player Miroshnichenko Names Pius X’s Head Coach

LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 10)–Lincoln Pius X has hired Nikolas Miroshnichenko to be the new head baseball coach starting in 2027. He
Miroshnichenko walked-on and earned a letter with the Nebraska baseba
ll team. He had spent time coaching in the high school ranks in his native home of California. In addition to handling the head coaching duties with baseball, Miroshnichenko will also serve as a teacher in the Pius X English department.
Miroshnichenko played at Trabuco Hills High School (Foothill Ranch, CA) where the Mustangs were ranked No. 15 in Southern California and No. 30 in the state during the 2014 season. In high school, he was rated one of the top 30 high school catchers in the state of California and a national top-200 catcher by Perfect Game.
Miroshnichenko dove into education and coaching. After a stint as JV head coach (2018-2020), he became the top varsity assistant at Trabuco Hills High School, where he oversaw all aspects of the game with special emphasis on catching and infield play. He contributed to two league championships and four playoff appearances. He also coordinated camps and instruction at the Mark Cresse School of Baseball in Newport Beach, CA.
