A 66-year-old man was expected in court Friday, charged with murder and concealing a homicide after his 88-year-old mother who was reported missing was later found dead and wrapped in rugs and plastic bags in their Roseland home. Kevan Works is accused of killing his mom, Daniest Graves, who was rep orted missing by friends and family on March 30 after being last seen on March 27, according to a Chicago police report. Daniest GravesChicago police When officers visited their home on March 30, Works was not cooperative, nor was he concerned about his mom's disappearance, according to the report. Police got a search warrant and returned to their home in the 10700 block of South Lafayette Avenue Tuesday morning. That's when they found Graves in the basement, wrapped in rugs and plastic bags, according to the police report. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Works was also arrested at the home. Graves had suffered from blunt force trauma and died of multiple injuries, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, which ruled her death a homicide.
