Apr 08, 2026
An argument at a car wash in North Philadelphia took a chaotic turn on Wednesday morning and the whole thing was caught on surveillance cameras.
The incident unfolded at a popular car was on Broad Street around 9:30 a.m. on April 8.
In surveillance video obtained by NBC10, a man and a woman
can be seen talking for a moment before she slaps a coffee cup out of a worker’s hand.
He swings back and the two wrestle for a while before hitting the ground.
Coworkers run up to them and try to break up the fight.
Then, moments later the woman drivers up and smacks the man’s car with a hammer.
At one point, the man gets the hammer from her and swings it at the woman’s car.
The video ends with the woman backing up her car and then running over the man holding the hammer before the car crashes into a wall.
A coworker was able to drag the man away to safety while another person grabs the woman to stop her from leaving.
The woman runs away as her car catches on fire.
The manager of the car wash told NBC10 that the two people were in some sort of relationship.
“She started arguing with him, hit him in the face,” manager Bou Bou Gory explained. “She had a hammer in her hand.”
NBC10 was there after the incident and saw investigators circling the burnt out shell of the car.
Investigators have not yet revealed what started the confrontation but they do know the identity of the woman who was behind the wheel.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but has since been released and returned to work.
If you have any information or know where the suspect is, please contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
