INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle announced on Tuesday night that he will be away from the team for its next two games. Carlisle made the announcement during his postgame press conference following the Pacers’ 124-104 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Car lisle said that his daughter Abby has an event at school. He added that Pacers Owner Herb Simon and Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard cleared Carlisle to attend the event and miss the next two games. Pacers assistant coach Lloyd Pierce will serve as the team’s head coach for the two games that Carlisle will miss. Those two games will be on Thursday at the Brooklyn Nets and on Friday at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. Carlisle will return to coach the team in the season finale on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.
