(KRON) -- A K-9 deputy named Ty is recovering at home in stable condition but "good spirits" after being stabbed multiple times in the neck and leg by a car chase suspect Tuesday morning, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office. Scattered dog treats at San Jose park not poisoned: officials S CSO said the incident happened on I-80 in Dixon when sheriff's deputies tried to pull over a car traveling at a "dangerously slow speed" but were instead led on a pursuit. The California Highway Patrol assisted in the chase by successfully deploying a spike strip, which brought the driver to a halt near I-80 and Travis Boulevard. After multiple attempts to gain compliance, K-9 Ty was deployed to assist with the arrest. During the apprehension, the suspect violently attacked Ty, stabbing him multiple times in the neck and leg." Ty was pulled to safety and rushed to a local emergency veterinary clinic before being transferred to UC Davis Veterinary Hospital for surgery. The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was taken into custody, medically cleared and booked into Solano County Jail, SCSO said.
