Lincoln Police Cruiser (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR/News Release Apr. 7)–Lincoln Police made 740 traffic stops were done, with 865 citations issued and 180 warnings given in their Winter Traffic Safety Enforcement project from Dec. 4 to March 31. There were 212 speeding tickets issued, wit h 389 no registration citations also given and 73 citations issued for no insurance. Only one DUI was issued. LPD had officers highly proactive in traffic enforcement that worked overtime, outside their typical shifts and focused on speeding, driving too fast for the conditions, following too close and failure to yield the right of way.
