(KRON) -- A person who was riding an electric scooter in Morgan Hill on Sunday was killed after being involved in a collision with a vehicle, police announced Tuesday. The fatal crash occurred around 8 p.m., shortly after sunset, in the 14000 block of Monterey Road. Arriving officers with the Morga n Hill Police Department and medical personnel found the e-scooter rider suffering from major injuries and began life-saving measures. Despite the efforts from first responders, the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. “It is not known at this time if alcohol and/or drug impairment was a factor in the collision,” Morgan Hill PD wrote on Tuesday. Authorities are reminding motorists to use extra caution while traveling through intersections or changing lanes during low-light conditions. The crash remains under investigation.
