UPDATE: Monday, April 6 at 10:30 p.m. One person is dead following a Monday afternoon collision involving multiple vehicles in Whitley County, Kentucky State Police reports.Officers with the agency responded to a section of the Cumberland Falls Highway near Ward Cemetery Road just after 3 p.m. for reports of a collision. An investigation revealed that a truck, driven by 38-year-old John Canada-Love, was traveling north on the highway and approached a Honda HR-V also traveling north attempting to make a turn.Police say that Canada-Love attempted to drive around the vehicle, but struck the rear end, causing his vehicle to overturn and strike a Mercedes-Benz traveling southbound.All occupants in the Honda HR-V and Mercedes-Benz were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision, and one passenger in the latter was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.Canada-Love, who was not wearing one, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.
