(KRON) -- A popular Vietnamese coffee establishment based in Southern California opened its first Bay Area outpost over the weekend. Da Vien Coffee debuted with a soft opening on Saturday, April 4 in Milpitas, the business announced on Instagram.
Da Vien is located at 279 W Calaveras Blvd., across
the block from the Serra shopper center on the other side of the street. The cafe is currently in its soft opening phase until April 16, during which its hours are daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Several posts have been circulating on platforms like TikTok about the excitement locals have for this SoCal coffee staple opening in their South Bay neighborhood.
"So far, a lot of people have come out and showed their support. We're so happy to see everyone come and try our drinks, and we hope they continue to like it," said Da Vien Milpitas store manager Robert.

Robert recommends, for any first-timer, to get Da Vien's signature drink, the "Marble Drip." It is described as Vietnamese coffee but with a lighter flavor and not as much caffeine.
"One of my fav coffee/matcha places in socal is finally coming to the bay!!! @davien.coffee I can’t wait for this location to open," one user wrote prior to the soft opening.
Da Vien in Milpitas is having a grand opening celebration on Saturday, April 18 at 9 a.m. with giveaways for the first 400 people. They will receive a Da Vien tote bag, tumbler, key chain, free drink voucher and pack of Pokémon cards. Event information is on their Facebook page.
Menu items at Da Vien -- which translates to "ice cube" in Vietnamese -- include a traditional Vietnamese iced coffee, Egg Cream Coffee and a variety of ube and matcha mixed coffees and lattes.
Da Vien began in 2020, then followed it up with the grand opening of its Westminster (Orange County) grand opening in May of 2021. It has since grown its social media following to more than 83,000 Instagram followers and another 25,000 on Facebook. The Vietnamese coffee shop has nine locations scattered across Los Angeles and Orange counties.
There has been a recent uptick in demand for Vietnamese coffee in the Bay Area. In San Francisco, the Nâu Coffee pop-up in February drew long lines that went down the block.
