Work planned overnight April 9 LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 6, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled nighttime lane closures on Interstate 64 in Fayette County for barrier wall installation. Work will take place overnight on Thursday, April 9 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting. Crews will be transporting and placing barrier wall within the project limits between mile points 64.8 and 71.7. Alternating lane closures are expected in the westbound and eastbound lanes during operations as materials are unloaded and installed. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in the work zone. All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
