Wildfire burns multiple acres in Sonoma County

(KRON) -- A wildfire burned multiple acres in Sonoma County on Sunday afternoon, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the 6300 block of Briggs Ranch Road in Geyserville at around 1:47 p.m.
Forward progress was halted by 6:22 p.m., fire officials said. Crews remained on scene into
the night to put out hot spots.

The fire, dubbed the "Briggs Fire," had burned approximately 4 acres by 5 p.m. and was burning in heavy fuels, Cal Fire said. According to fire officials, the fire had a slow rate of spread.
There were no reported injuries. No structures were threatened by the wildfire.

The fire was located about 10 miles northwest of Calistoga. The cause is under investigation.
