Cooler air settles in today through midweek
Apr 06, 2026
Cooler, drier air settles in behind the front as we head into Monday, and you’ll definitely notice the change. Highs Monday through Wednesday will stay in the upper 60s to low 70s, with much lower humidity making it feel crisp and comfortable each afternoon.
The bigger story will be the ch
illy nights. Starting this morning and continuing through Wednesday night, temperatures will drop off quickly after sunset. Overnight lows will be cold enough in some areas for patchy frost, especially in outlying spots. The coldest mountain locations could even briefly dip to or just below freezing.
Right now, Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning looks like the best chance for frost, but again, several nights early in the week will be quite cool, so it’s something to keep in mind if you’ve got plants outside. The National Weather Service has already isssued alerts for the High Country to bring in plants as the growning season is in full bloom.
By Thursday and Friday, temperatures begin to rebound, with afternoons turning milder and nights not quite as cold. We ease back toward more typical spring conditions heading into the end of the week.
Overall, it’s a quiet and dry stretch from Monday through Friday, with a mix of mostly sunny to partly sunny skies and no rain expected.
