‘It was bad': Crash kills 2, a 22yearold charged with intoxication manslaughter
Apr 05, 2026
Two people were killed overnight in Dallas, in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood, after an accused intoxicated driver hit them.
Police say 22-year-old Isaac Chacon tried to get away, but was stopped by witnesses.
A gas station employee who did not want to be identified filmed part of the inciden
t that happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Military Parkway and North Jim Miller Rd.
He captured a man in handcuffs on the side of the road after a bad car wreck killed two people. And he also took a video of the moment a victim was carried away on a stretcher.
“It was bad,” the gas station employee said. “He [the witness] was holding [the accused suspect] down, he said [the suspect] was going to go to jail because he had killed these people,” the employee said.
According to police, Chacon was later taken into custody by officers. He’s charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of collision involving death.
“You got to think about others, that could have been my brother, that could have been my family too,” the gas station employee said. “I got three people that passed away, so I know how that feels.”
It’s another scare for people who live in this area, who said they’re worried about bad accidents that have happened there.
One neighbor in a Spanish interview told NBC 5 that everyone always has to be careful, and that the area is complicated because of drunk driving.
There is no attorney listed for Chacon as of Sunday night. Police have not released the names of the victims, as they say the investigation is ongoing.
