PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A two-story garage, multiple vehicles and several trailers were destroyed in a large fire in Prince George on Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, April 4 at around 3:20 p.m., Prince George County Fire and EMS responded to the 7000 block of Wood Drive for reports of
a structure fire.
Once on scene, crews found a two-story detached garage along with three vehicles on fire. The fire had also spread to a nearby residence and started several brush fires near the area.
The fire was able to spread quickly due to windy, dry conditions. The garage, vehicles and trailers, which included a construction and flatbed trailer, were destroyed.

The house sustained damage to the outside but remains structurally stable. No injuries have been reported and the residents were not displaced.
Officials believe the fire began from a burn barrel that was not used safely or in an appropriate manner.
Prince George County Fire and EMS wants to remind community members that burn barrels should not be used to burn trash where embers, fire or heat can escape. Outdoor burning is incredibly dangerous during dry, windy conditions when fires can easily spread.
Virginia's 4 p.m. burning law is currently in effect from now until April 30. This reduces open-air burning before 4 p.m. when fire is within 300 feet of any woods or dry grass. Anybody who burns is responsible for attending to and controlling the fire.
"This was the third outdoor fire-related call of the day, following an earlier illegal burning incident and a brush fire that burned up to an acre. We’re reminding everyone that the burn ban remains in effect and urging you to avoid outdoor burning until conditions improve," the post said.
