Kathy Griffin is switching things up again when it comes to her looks.  The 65-year-old hasn’t been shy about the work she’s had done over the years. In fact, just last year, she revealed that she had her third facelift. But that isn’t the only procedure she’s had done.  Griffin’s newest physical change has nothing to do with needles or going under the knife. Kathy Griffin shows off her latest work that has transformed her look completely. (Photo: Savion Washington/Getty Images) ‘She’s Morphing Into That Head She Proudly Dangled’: Kathy Griffin’s Startling New Appearance Has Fans Crying ‘Karma’ Years After Controversial Trump Photo In her 2009 memoir, “Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin,” she revealed that she underwent plastic surgery at the age of 26 after being repeatedly told she would be more attractive if she fixed her nose. She later had a procedure called blepharoplasty to lift the corners of her eyes, and she has also had her lips tattooed red. On March 16, the comedian revealed she had made another drastic change to her head. Though she rocks bangs, she ditched her signature ginger curls and instead wore her bright yellow tresses straight. But she didn’t completely get rid of her ginger hair. Griffin’s eyebrows were still a deep red. In one picture, she cheekily bit her finger, then held her hands up and smiled in another. The final shot was of her giving a fierce glare with her hands on her hips. “And you guys thought you knew me…,” she wrote.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kathy Griffin (@kathygriffin) The transformation took her followers by surprise, and many who agreed said, “Love it. Is it a wig or colored?” Another said, “WOW. Suits you perfectly. You should consider the change in color.” A few dozen made jokes about who Griffin reminded them of with this hair. Many joked she stole a wig from singer Cher, wondering, “Cher, is that you???” Other comments claimed she looked like comedian Chelsea Handler, Hannah Montana from the same-titled Disney series, singer Avril Lavigne, and even “Turning Point USA” CEO Erika Kirk. Critics thought she was going for another look for a television gig. One person wrote, “Someone book her as a reporter on Fox News, STAT,” and another said, “What in the Fox Newsroom…” Her outfit may have read casual, but it wasn’t without meaning. She wore a dark sweatshirt featuring the Rebel Loon—a blend of the Star Wars Rebel Alliance symbol and Minnesota’s state bird—now tied to a grassroots movement that supports immigrants against ICE. It’s a subtle choice, but one that still carries weight, especially with immigration remaining a flashpoint under Trump’s policies. Griffin has been heavily critical of ICE and even leads chants at her live comedy shows, where she tells the audience to chant insults about the agency.  2017 – “What Kathy Griffin did was deeply disturbing, completely inappropriate, shocking and tasteless.”2026 – “Love you girl!” pic.twitter.com/ZjOZ8fJIVU— Canada Hates Trump (@AntiTrumpCanada) March 28, 2026 After her comedy show in Minnesota last month, she paid a visit to the memorials of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, two individuals who were shot and killed by ICE and Border Patrol agents in January— two separate incidents that have sparked protests, legal battles and calls for greater transparency into the Trump administration’s crackdown. Her outspoken stance on immigration naturally drew attention, but she’s also made headlines in more personal ways tied to Trump and the unruly raids happening in Minnesota and other states like New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Florida, and Baltimore. Years before that national backlash took shape, she was already no stranger to controversy rooted in her relationship with Trump’s image and rhetoric. In May 2017, she posted a photo of her holding a fake severed head that resembled Trump’s, sparking debates online over whether it was a pointed political jab or an unfortunate coincidence. The image quickly went viral, with critics questioning whether it was a political jab or an unfortunate coincidence, proving that even casual posts can ignite controversy in the current climate. ‘What in the Fox Newsroom’: Kathy Griffin Ditches Her Orange Hair Years After That Head Scandal, Leaving Fans Wondering What She’s Going For ...read more read less
