UNO reinvents itself: The University of New Orleans is restructuring academic programs as it transitions to LSU New Orleans, aiming to better align degrees with workforce demand and long-term sustainability. Changes affect fewer than 2% of students and include program consolidations, discontinuatio ns and teach-outs. President Kathy Johnson said all impacted students will receive advising and support to complete or transition their degrees.  Under one roof: Snelling Baton Rouge has acquired Snelling Industrial Services of Baton Rouge, uniting operations under one local leadership team and expanding into light industrial staffing. The move broadens services to include manufacturing, warehousing and production roles, strengthening its ability to serve regional employers and job seekers. Read the full announcement.  Sales hit the brakes: General Motors’ sales plunged in the first quarter of the year, falling 9.7%, in its biggest drop in almost four years, as high interest rates and vehicle prices across the industry held buyers back even before the impact of rising gas prices is fully felt. GM North American chief Duncan Aldred says he expects sales to improve for the industry as the year progresses and notes that in the same period last year, consumers rushed to buy cars ahead of tariffs, making it a difficult comparison.
