The weekend death of a man who was assaulted in Avondale in March was ruled a homicide on Wednesday, officials said. Alexander C. Kazanowski, 25, was found unresponsive on the ground with head injuries about 3:20 a.m. on March 24, Chicago police said.Kazanowski was taken to Advocate Illinois Masoni c Medical Center in critical condition. But Kazanowski, of the 4900 block of West Nelson Avenue, was pronounced dead at 3:31 p.m. Saturday, the Cook County medical examiner's office said.An autopsy Wednesday determined he died of blunt head trauma from an assault, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner.
