‘He Can’t Count’: Trump Swears His Miami Library Will Bury Obama — Then His Words Expose He Has No Clue What a Library Is as Fans Spot Something Off
Apr 01, 2026
In life and politics, comparison is often called the thief of joy. Yet supporters and critics alike can’t resist placing Donald Trump and Barack Obama side by side.
On many levels, the first Black president already has his successor beat. Obama’s approval ratings have always towered over Tru
mp’s; his effortless cool is something Trump can’t stop playing up to, and he holds a Nobel Peace Prize — an honor Trump has practically begged the Norwegian committee to give him.
Now, the two are headed for yet another comparison: their legacy projects.

‘Holy S—t’: Barack Obama Pulls Off Something That Gives Trump Just One More Reason to Be Jealous and the Visuals Are Hilarious
The president and his son, Eric Trump, revealed renderings of a presidential library planned for downtown Miami, a structure designed to tower over Biscayne Bay and make a statement from the moment it comes into view.
The proposed building features his name in bold block letters stretching across the exterior, a design choice that mirrors the branding style long associated with his real estate ventures.
The plans show sweeping hallways lined with plaques honoring past presidents, a grand ballroom modeled after the lavish spaces he prefers, and a replica of the Oval Office decorated with gold drapes and ornate finishes.

A large atrium is also envisioned to house multiple aircraft, including the luxury Boeing jet gifted by Qatar, which officials said would eventually be transferred to the library after his presidency. The project is set for a 2.63-acre parcel of land next to Miami’s historic Freedom Tower, a site once used to process Cuban refugees entering the United States.
After those glossy images landed online, so did Trump’s comments about the library’s development and how it ties to Obama.
“Well, it’s a museum or a library, it’s presidential,” he admitted during Tuesday’s briefing. “But I wouldn’t start it til I’m out of office. I don’t believe in building libraries or museums. It’s really like the Barack Hussein Obama one in Chicago, and not a good location, and a very unattractive building that’s seriously late and seriously over budget.”

The president insisted it will be a “great” addition, especially to the “best block in Miami.” “The state worked with us,” he shared, before going into detail about another bizarre addition.
He added, “The concept could be office but it’s most likely gonna be a hotel with a beautiful building underneath and a 747 Air Force One in the lobby, but it’s going to be tricky.”
One enthusiastic supporter posted, “Like share if you believe President Trump’s Presidential Library is better than Obama’s dented trash can look.”

One Barack supporter fired back, writing, “His is gaudy and cheap looking, Obama’s shows class and power.”
A third commenter added a sharper jab, saying, “Trump library? That dumba– can’t even read.” The jokes piled on as many debated whether he knows what the building will be. “He doesn’t know what a library is in fairness,” said one person, while another suggested, “He says hotel’ but he means country club,” hinting at the many Trump golf clubs around the world.
Focusing on the details, one person zoomed in on Trump’s post to notice, “The flag in Trump‘s new AI presidential library video has 56 stars.” Because everyone knows the United States Flag has only 50 stars for each state, one person asked, “So he can’t count either?”

Some believe it’s nothing more than a “money Grab,” saying, “Look at this glutton trying to get a free hotel.”
The jokes and debates about whose project would be the best seem to be a hot topic on social media. Obama’s library is slated to open in June 2026. Trump has been extremely critical of his success— calling the project a disaster.
Trump’s newest property will move forward through a swift transfer of valuable downtown property. State officials approved the plan to hand over the land, which had previously served as a parking lot for college employees. The agreement, Politico reported, requires construction on the library and museum to begin within five years, signaling that the vision is more than a sketch on paper. It is a commitment backed by timelines and expectations tied to one of the most visible pieces of real estate in the city.
And that’s where the competition starts to feel personal.
Trump has never hidden his desire to outshine Obama at something — anything — and this project looks like his latest swing at that target.
By unveiling plans for a sleek, high-tech, almost hotel-like library that screams luxury and spectacle, he appears determined to win the comparison game before Obama’s big reveal even begins. The structure may double as a museum of history, but the message feels unmistakable: if legacy is a contest, Trump intends to make sure his building is the one people can’t stop staring at.
