The Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) confirmed Wednesday it is investigating a fatal crash at U.S. 98 North and State Road 471 in Lakeland.Authorities said deputies responded to a reported semi-truck collision just before 11 a.m. on April 1.PCSO added "hazardous material may have spilled as a result of the crash."One person lost their life in the crash involving two semi-trucks, according to PCSO's report.Traffic on U.S. 98 is being re-routed, as the area of the crash is expected to be closed for several hours.This is a developing story.
