(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 1)–Nebraska lawmakers on Wednesday morning passed both state budget bills for the rest of the biennium, just four days after the deadline. Both LB1071, which deals with appropriations, and LB1072, which handles cash transfers, passed on a 35-13 vote on Wednesday morning. As an April Fools’ prank to Speaker John Arch of LaVista, lawmakers on the floor all initially voted against the budget, prompting a jaw-drop from Arch.
