LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 1)–Lincoln Police arrested a 35-year-old woman in front of her home near 21st and Holdrege late Tuesday afternoon, after she assaulted an officer and was found to be under the i
nfluence.
According to LPD public information manager Erika Thomas, an officer on patrol saw Eliana Rosas driving on Holdrege and determined she had an outstanding warrant. Rosas pulled over, where two children got out of the car and another was still seated. Thomas says the officer reported that Rosas showed several signs of impairment and gave him a false name.
Thomas says Rosas then got out of the car, and as the officer tried to take her into custody, she apparently pulled away and continued to resist by ripping the microphone and body-worn camera from his vest. The officer suffered a sprained wrist that required medical treatment.
Rosas was arrested for third-degree assault on an officer, but cited for resisting arrest and first offense DUI among other offenses. Thomas says Rosas’ blood alcohol content was .186, more than twice the legal limit.
