(KRON) -- The country's largest revolving sushi chain is opening another restaurant in the Bay Area. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is having its grand opening in Union City on Friday, April 3 at 11:30 a.m., the restaurant announced in a news release. Kura Sushi is located at the Union Landing shopping c enter at 32170 Dyer St. The eatery is currently in its soft opening phase, which began on March 20. To celebrate the grand opening, Kura Sushi "will be celebrating its grand opening in Union City at Union Landing on Friday, April 3, 2026. All sushi plates will be priced at $4.10; other dishes vary," the restaurant wrote in a news release. Hours for the Union City restaurant are as follows Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Union City location marks Kura Sushi's sixth Bay Area location and ninth in Northern California. According to the restaurant, Union City follows the Berkeley opening (2025), San Jose (2023), San Francisco (2021), Pleasanton (2018) and Cupertino (2016). Kura Sushi rewards members dining between Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5 will be entered for a "Kura Sushi for a year" gift card. Five winners will be selected. Kura Sushi opened its first restaurant in 1977 and has since expanded with more than 600 locations across Japan, Taiwan and the United States. The restaurant has grown its social media presence with nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram and another 106,000 on Facebook.
