Main Street Pizza Noodle, a staple in Park City, will close on Sunday

Main Street Pizza Noodle, a staple that has served Parkites and visitors for decades, will close this weekend.
The restaurant, located toward the middle of the shopping, dining and entertainment strip, is scheduled to end its run at 3 p.m. on Sunday. It opened in 1990 and is a popular alternati
ve to the fine-dining experiences on Main Street. The restaurant is oftentimes jammed during busy tourism seasons.
The owner, Rick Smith, is retiring and will not open another restaurant elsewhere.
“We’ve had the privilege of being part of so many people’s memories of Park City,” Smith said in a prepared statement announcing the closure. “From Sundance to ski season, powder days to summer festivals — we were here for all of it. Feeding the people who came through this town for 35 years was an honor we never took for granted.”
Smith also noted the rising commercial lease rates over the years on Main Street.
“The economics have become increasingly difficult for an independent family restaurant on Main Street,” he said. “After 35 years, the timing felt right. We loved what we did and we loved this community.”
