Windows shattered on dog daycare bus in act of vandalism, owner says
Mar 31, 2026
A dog daycare bus was vandalized twice, in The Colony, with windows smashed and glass everywhere.
In videos shared to social media prior to the incidents, dogs sit calmly in their seats on a converted school bus, waiting for their daily adventure aboard the Adventure Doggy Bus.But that routine wa
s shattered over the weekend, and left Denzel Andrew to pick up the pieces.
The bus, he says, is central to his daily dog care business, My Neighbors Dog Co.
“My clients, they don’t have to look for a text message when I pull up. When I pull that bus up to the door, the dogs let them know Denzel’s outside,” Andrew said.
Andrew says he parks the bus by Wilcox Park in The Colony, close to his home, where, over the weekend, it was vandalized.
“I love what I do and for somebody to take and to destroy what I worked so hard for and something that does so much good for this community, oh, it broke my heart,” Andrew said.
He says he woke up Saturday morning to police at his door letting him know the bus’s windows, mirrors and lights were smashed.
“Officers pretty much had to pick me up off the ground,” Andrew said.
Andrew says he had to call the police himself Saturday night when he realized the bus was vandalized again.
This time, he says each window was busted from the inside of the bus.
“The first time, maybe you had your fun bashing things but the second time? To come back again, it feels more, who’s out to get me? As far as I know, I don’t have any enemies,” Andrew said.
The bus is now in a tow yard. But Andrew is determined to steer past the setback.
“It’s no longer a story of tragedy but it’s a story of triumph,” Andrew said.
In two days, a fundraiser set up by a customer has already blown past its $15,000 goal.
Andrew says he’ll use the money to buy a new bus while his other one gets repaired.
“They messed up one doggie daycare bus, we’re coming back with two,” Andrew said.
Police in The Colony say they are investigating the vandalism reports and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
