Oh, Mary... Los Angeles theatergoers are in for a season. Center Theatre Group has unveiled its 2026-2027 lineup, and it’s stacked with buzzy Broadway imports, ambitious premieres and crowd-pleasing favorites. All of which anchored, yes, by Cole Escola's Tony-winning, deliriously funny Oh, Mary !, at Ahmanson Theatre this fall. RECOMMENDED: Oh, Mary! is the funniest Broadway play in years The breakout comedy directed by Tony winner Sam Pinkleton has been one of Broadway’s most talked-about hits, reimagining Mary Todd Lincoln as a chaotic, scene-stealing antihero. It arrives in L.A. November 10 through December 6, kicking off a run of high-profile touring productions at the Ahmanson that also includes the North American premiere of Christmas Carol Goes Wrong (December 12-January 10, 2027), the Joel Grey-directed Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish (February 13 to March 14, 2027) and the recent Broadway musical Boop! (July 6 to August 1, 2027). At the Mark Taper Forum, the season leans into a mix of new work and modern classics, beginning with the world premiere of The Turning (September 2 to October 11), a folk-infused thriller set at a California wellness retreat, followed by Destiny of Desire (November 11 to December 20), a gleefully over-the-top telenovela-inspired comedy. Also on deck are John Proctor Is the Villain (March 17 to April 25, 2027) and a new staging of Fences (May 26 to July 3, 2027), which will complete CTG’s long-running journey through Wilson’s Century Cycle. Beyond the core eight-show subscription, CTG’s CTG:FWD programming adds a slate of crowd pleasers and family-friendly fare. Look for limited runs of Clue (September 8-12) and The Music Man (October 27 to November 8) at the Ahmanson, plus the anniversary tour of Riverdance 30 – The New Generation (April 13-18, 2027). Over at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, Dog Man: The Musical (September 12 to October 18) makes a welcome comeback after a record-setting run. Taken together, the season reflects CTG’s ongoing effort to position itself as both a pipeline and a destination, one that brings in the best of Broadway and the West End while continuing to develop new work in Los Angeles. Subscriptions for the eight-show “One CTG” package are on sale now, with CTG:FWD titles available as add-ons. For more information and to subscribe, click here. ...read more read less
