SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Eighty-five bikes were seized by authorities after a large group of bicyclists attempted to enter the Bay Bridge from San Francisco on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP observed the bicyclists gathered in San Francisco and officers said they witnessed them swerving in and out of traffic, riding directly at moving cars and coming dangerously close to pedestrians. The San Francisco Police Department began to track the group from the air and believed that they were heading in the direction of the Bay Bridge with the intent of taking it over. Law enforcement cited and released 85 of the bicyclists for riding on the roadway and seized 85 bikes.
