Starting Monday, there is a ban in place on all smart/AI eyeglasses at courtrooms across Philadelphia. As announced last week, starting Monday, anyone who attempts to bring any eyeglasses with audio and/or video recording capabilities into a courtroom in the city could face expulsion from the co urt, fines or even arrest and prosecution. The ban includes any eyeglasses — both prescription and non-prescription — that have video and/or audio recording capabilities. These types of glasses, officials said, will now be forbidden inside any First Judicial District (FJD-Philadelphia Courts) of Pennsylvania courthouse, building, or office without the court’s express written permission. Officials said this new ban adds on to an existing prohibition on any type of audio/video/listening/recording device s — including all cameras and/or cell phones — inside courtrooms in Philadelphia.
