A 58-year-old man is fighting for his life in the hospital after he was struck by a minivan in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday night, police said. The crash occurred in the area of the intersection of Cottman and Castor Avenue at around 8:50 p.m. when the man walked out into the street outside of a marked crosswalk in front of a 2014 Honda Odyssey traveling southbound, police said. The driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old man, remained at the scene and is cooperating, police said. The man who was struck, who has not been identified, is in critical condition at the hospital, police said.
