Man arrested after leading deputies on chase in beer truck INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Evansville man was taken into custody Friday afternoon after leading deputies on a pursuit in a stolen beer truck that ended in a crash. Randall Baker, 41, was arrested after the semitruck he was driving st ruck a patrol vehicle and went off the road in Posey County. Just after 3 p.m., Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies spotted the stolen semitruck heading west on Diamond Avenue near Resurrection Drive. When they tried to pull the driver over, he refused to stop, leading deputies on a chase into neighboring Posey County. The sheriff’s office says the driver, 41-year-old Randall Baker, steered the truck toward a deputy who was trying to set out stop sticks and ended up hitting a sheriff’s department patrol vehicle. The sheriff’s deputy was not injured. After colliding with the patrol car, the semitruck went off the road and ended up in a field. The sheriff’s office says Baker refused to get out of the truck until deputies used pepperball rounds to force him out. He was taken into custody and later transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
