Award-winning celebrity chef Tiffany Derry is stepping into a global spotlight as the hospitality captain for FIFA Dallas, helping showcase North Texas to the world.
Derry is one of 16 sports and entertainment ambassadors selected, one for each host city for the FIFA World Cup. In her role, she w
ill highlight the culture and cuisine of the Dallas-Fort Worth area for visitors and viewers from across the globe.
She says each part of North Texas offers something unique.
“You go to Fort Worth, you’re going to experience something beautiful. It’s going to feel a little rustic and refined as well at the same time. If you go to Carrollton, you’re going to have some of the best Korean food that you’ll have, no matter where you’re at in the U.S.,” Derry said.
Derry says what stands out most is the feeling people take with them.
“You feel a sense of belonging, you feel home, you feel a part of something bigger and you truly can feel that Southern hospitality as well,” she said.
Organizers say the hospitality captain role is designed to give fans an authentic experience of each host city beyond the matches.
Derry will be all over the metroplex at curated hospitality events and on social media, serving as the face of On Location, the official hospitality provider for the World Cup. She says there are packages fitting a range of budgets.
The force behind several culinary concepts including Roots Southern Table and Radici, Derry is set to open The Landing in EpicCentral in Grand Prairie in April. The sports lounge and social club will host watch parties during the World Cup.
