Park City Mountain Village will close Sunday, with the upper mountain closing Saturday. Resort officials said a season marked by persistent warm temperatures and low snowpack has accelerated the transition to spring operations, despite the effort from mountain teams to maintain terrain throughou t the winter. Crescent and Payday lifts will close at the end of the day Saturday, with First Time lift and 3 Kings spinning through the day Sunday. “As conditions continue to remain warm here at the mountain, our mountain operations team has done a phenomenal job all season battling Mother Nature,” said John Kanaly, senior manager of communication at Park City Mountain. “But these sustained warm temperatures have really taken a toll on the mountain.” Operations will continue at Canyons Village as long as conditions allow. The Mountain Coaster at Mountain Village is expected to remain open into next week. “Embrace the slush,” Kanaly said. “Let’s all celebrate spring skiing for those last few turns.” The final turn of the lifts at Mountain Village this Sunday will coincide with the end of the season at Deer Valley Resort, which is set to suspend all operations at the end of the day. “I’m incredibly proud of our team. In just a few short months, the team opened and operated nearly 100 new runs and eight new lifts — while navigating the lowest snowfall in Utah history,” said Todd Bennett, president and COO of Deer Valley. “We have accomplished something that’s never been done before in the history of skiing.”  The post Park City Mountain Village and Deer Valley seasons to end Sunday appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
