Alternative transportation options for Indianapolis 500 fans
Mar 26, 2026
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Race Day parking and camping at Indianapolis Motor Speedway are sold out of the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500 almost a month ahead of 2025.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway suggests that fans should plan ahead and arrive early.
If you are looking to alterna
tive options to arrive at the track on Race Day, here are some of the options.
Speedway and Neighborhood Parking
Some Speedway residents and businesses open their yards and parking lots to race day visitors.
Bike to the 500 and Bike Parking
The BodyArmor Flash I.V. Bike to the 500 presented by Central Indiana Cycling is back for its 11th year, offering race fans a different way to commute to the track on Race Day.
The escorted 5-mile commute starts at the AMP at 16 Tech. Bike-riders can chose between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. departure times. Cyclists will park outside Gate 1 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Central Indiana Cycling will offer a limited number of pre-sold and on-site valet bike options at Gate 1 and 2 for those not participating in Bike to the 500. Bike parking is available for all cyclists at Gates 1, 6 and 9.
Rideshares
Race fans could use a rideshare service, such as Uber or Lyft. Guests using rideshare services like Uber, Lyft or taxis will be dropped off at the corner of 10th and Polco Streets. Guests also will be picked up at this location after the race.
Race Day Shuttles
IMS also offers a round-trip shuttle service for fans. The school busses depart from either the Indianapolis International Airport or downtown Indianapolis locations and arrive at the Main Gate parking lot (between Oval Turns 1 and 2) located across from Gate 2 on 16th Street.
