CAMDEN, S.C. (WOLO)– A joint law enforcement operation led to the arrest, and seizure of illegal narcotics in the Camden area, say deputies. Kershaw Co. Sheriff’s Office says, a collaborative effort between local and state law enforcement agencies successfully removed a significant quantity of illegal narcotics from the community early Wednesday morning, March 25, 2026. During a traffic stop approximately half a pound of fentanyl was seized after KCSO K9 Sam alerted officers to the presence of the narcotics. “Camden Police Chief Jack Rushing and I are always pleased to see our units working together to get this poison off our streets. Successful joint operations like this happen all the time, and we will continue teaming up against drug dealers to keep our residents safe,” says Sheriff Lee Boan.  After an investigation at the scene, Angelo Deon Stradford, 47, of Lugoff, was taken into custody. Stradford has been charged with trafficking fentanyl. He is being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing. Kershaw Co. Sheriff’s Office says the amount of fentanyl seized has the potential of killing more people than the entire population of Kershaw County. According to the DEA’s website, 2 milligrams can kill someone. Deputies say there are over 250,000 milligrams in a half pound. Click here for more local news.
