(KRON) -- Two people are hospitalized with injuries after a vehicle crashed into an embankment on Highway 280, south of Edgewood Road in San Mateo County, on Tuesday and caught fire, with flames spreading to nearby vegetation. "Crews arrived to find a vehicle on fire in the eucalyptus about 30 yards from the road with fire spreading into the trees," said Cal Fire CZU. Authorities said the vehicle fire was quickly extinguished, and the vegetation fire was contained to a half-acre on both sides of Highway 280. It is not yet known what led to the crash.
