Man arrested in connection with downtown San Jose double homicide

A man was arrested in connection with the killing of two men in downtown San Jose, police said Tuesday. The homicides were the city’s second and third of 2026.
Investigators identified the suspect as Aaron Anthony Ocampo, 24, of Morgan Hill. Ocampo was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail fo
r homicide but was later released pending additional follow-up, police said.
Detectives conducted a comprehensive follow-up and later obtained a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of manslaughter, police said.
On March 22, suspect Ocampo self-surrendered to detectives and was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Jail, police added.
According to police, the fatal shooting happened at about 2:20 a.m. on Feb. 8 in the 100 block of Paseo de San Antonio.
Investigators said the motive and circumstances surrounding the event are still under investigation.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victims.
